Eckerö - Grisslehamn
Eckerö Linjen connects Berghamn in the municipality of Eckerö, at the western tip of Åland, with Grisslehamn in Roslagen. The M/S Eckerö sails the route three times a day in each direction, with the crossing taking 2 hours. Note the time difference: Åland follows Finnish time, an hour ahead of Sweden. Terminal & check-in
The Eckerö Linjen terminal is at Skatuddsvägen 10, SE-764 56 Grisslehamn, open daily from 08:30 to 20:00. All passengers and vehicles must check in at least 30 minutes before departure, or 45 minutes before from June to August. Check-in closes 10 minutes before departure. Cars, motorbikes and bicycles check in at the vehicle lane in the harbour. Foot passengers collect their boarding pass from the machines in the terminal. The machines open 2 hours before departure, or 1.5 hours before the 10:00 sailing. There's a cash machine just to the right of the terminal entrance.
Getting there and parking
There's a paid car park right by the terminal; pay at the machine or via the app. Ten charging points for electric cars are available. Motorhomes can park in dedicated bays for a maximum of one day, and only on the day of the crossing. If you want to stay longer, Grisslehamns Marina & Camping is about 1 km from the terminal.
Onward travel
Eckerö Linjen runs connecting coaches to the ferries together with Västanhede Trafik. Routes run via Norrtälje to the Cityterminalen in Stockholm, to Uppsala, and as far as Gävle, Västerås and Eskilstuna. Some routes run only in season. You need to book the coaches in advance, and only together with a crossing. If your coach is full, SL buses often also run to the ferry terminal, though Eckerö Linjen's coach tickets aren't valid on them.
