About us
swedenferries.com is an independent comparison site for the ferry connections to Sweden. The crossings run across the Baltic Sea from Germany, Denmark and Poland to the Swedish ports of Gothenburg, Trelleborg, Malmö, Ystad and Nynäshamn, operated by Stena Line, TT-Line, Finnlines, Polferries, Unity Line, Scandlines and Öresundslinjen. No single operator publishes all of these routes together; we bring them into one place.
Sweden is a long country, and a ferry is also a way of skipping part of it. Most crossings put you down in the far south, at Trelleborg, Ystad or Malmö in Skåne, which is exactly right if Skåne is where you are going and several hundred kilometres short if it is not. Two routes break the pattern: Kiel to Gothenburg lands you on the west coast in the morning, and the eighteen hour run from Gdańsk to Nynäshamn sets you down beside Stockholm, far up the country from any Skåne port. So the hours at sea are worth weighing against the hours you would otherwise spend on the E4 or the E6, because the shortest crossing is not always the quickest way to arrive. We give every route its ports at both ends, its crossing time and its operator, together with the part of Sweden it delivers you to, and treat travelling with a vehicle or a pet as subjects of their own.

What this site is not
swedenferries.com is an independent guide. We are not the official website of any ferry operator; official booking sites are linked from each operator's page. We are not a Sweden travel guide or hotel portal: sights, hotels, flights and car rental in Sweden are deliberately left out. Booking links lead either to the operator's own booking system or to a marketplace such as Direct Ferries. The company named at checkout or in the confirmation sells the ticket, and its current prices, availability and terms apply.
