The Świnoujście–Trelleborg ferry route connects the Polish Baltic resort town on the German-Polish border with Sweden's southernmost city, in the region of Skåne – in only around 6.5 hours. TT-Line has operated this direct link across the southern Baltic Sea since January 2014, providing a straightforward crossing between Central Europe and Scandinavia. For travellers from Poland and the wider Baltic region, this route is a practical alternative to the German departure ports of Rostock or Travemünde further west.

The line is run year-round by TT-Line, the only operator on this route. Onboard the modern fleet – including the Green Ships with LNG propulsion – you'll find restaurants, sea-view cafés, lounges with free Wi-Fi, an onboard shop and children's play areas. The newest vessels also offer up to 32 charging points for electric vehicles. How long does the ferry from Świnoujście to Trelleborg take?+

The daytime crossing takes about 6 to 6.5 hours. Overnight sailings take a little longer, around 7 to 7.5 hours, as the ship slows down slightly to give passengers a proper rest.

How often does the ferry run between Świnoujście and Trelleborg?+

TT-Line runs up to 3 departures daily year-round – that works out to 8 to 12 crossings a week depending on the season. Summer has the most sailings, with slightly fewer in the off-season.

The earliest departure is around 00:30, the latest around 18:15. The exact timetable varies by day of the week and season.

How much does the Świnoujście–Trelleborg ferry cost?+

Tickets for foot passengers start at around €60 per person including a vehicle. The average fare with a car is roughly €282. Prices vary depending on season, booking time and ticket category.

On top of the ticket price, a fuel and environmental surcharge and an ETS fee apply per person and vehicle. Booking early pays off if you want the best available fares.

Can I bring my car or motorhome?+

Yes, you can bring cars, motorbikes, bicycles, motorhomes and caravans. Vehicles with a trailer are also fine – trailers are charged by length (including the tow bar and any attachments).

The new Green Ships also offer up to 32 charging points for electric vehicles, which you can use during the crossing.

Can I bring my dog or other pet?+

Yes, pets are welcome on board. You'll need a valid EU pet passport and an up-to-date rabies vaccination. Dogs must be kept on a lead and may need to wear a muzzle in some areas.

A limited number of pet-friendly cabins are available. Alternatively, you can book a standard cabin for a cleaning fee. Pets are allowed in lounges and on outer decks, but not in restaurants and shops.

Which operator runs the route, and which ships are used?+

TT-Line is the only operator on this route. The Lübeck-based company has run ferry services across the Baltic Sea since 1962 and operates a fleet of nine ships.

Of particular note are the Green Ships "Nils Holgersson" and "Peter Pan" (built in 2022), which run on environmentally friendly LNG propulsion. All ferries offer free Wi-Fi, restaurants, lounges and comfortable cabins.

When do I need to arrive at the port, and how does check-in work?+

Check-in opens around 2 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before departure. The Świnoujście terminal is located at Terminal Promowy, ul. Dworcowa 1.

You can use online check-in in advance – TT-Line sends you an email 48 hours before departure. At the terminal, simply scan your barcode at the self-check-in kiosk. Foot passengers are escorted to the ferry by port staff 30 minutes before departure.
