From Germany to Trelleborg
Trelleborg calls itself Scandinavia's largest RoRo port. For you, that means frequent departures, a short drive from the ramp to the road, and direct connections on to Malmö and Copenhagen. Two routes bring you here from Germany.
Rostock - Trelleborg
The fastest connection from Germany. Stena Line runs the ferries Skåne and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, sailing up to six times a day, by day and by night. TT-Line also serves the route, and the crossing takes around 6 hours with either operator. With both operators sailing, it's worth comparing departure times on the page Rostock - Trelleborg.
Travemünde - Trelleborg
From Travemünde near Lübeck, TT-Line sails to Trelleborg up to eight times a day, and the crossing takes around 8 hours. An overnight sailing saves you a travel day and gets you to Sweden well rested in the morning. Details on the page Travemünde - Trelleborg.
From Poland and Lithuania to Trelleborg
Świnoujście - Trelleborg
For travellers from Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony, Świnoujście is often closer than the Baltic ports in Schleswig-Holstein. TT-Line has sailed from here to Trelleborg since 2014, taking around 6.5 hours and running up to ten times a week. The Polish operator POLSCA Baltic Ferries, which owns Unity Line, also sails the route. More at Świnoujście - Trelleborg.
Klaipėda - Trelleborg
TT-Line has connected Trelleborg with Klaipėda in Lithuania since 2018, and DFDS also sells crossings on the line. There are up to three sailings a week, and the crossing takes around 19 hours. Terminal and check-in
Stena Line docks at the terminal at Norra Nyhamnsgatan 1A, 231 61 Trelleborg. The terminal is open Monday to Friday from 05:15 to 23:45, Saturdays 05:15 to 23:30 and Sundays 06:30 to 23:00. With Stena Line, foot passengers and cyclists check in at Hamngatan 9 and take the terminal bus to the ship. With a vehicle, aim to be at check-in 60 minutes before departure, on foot 30 minutes before. Stena Line takes no cash, either at the port or on board, so pay with Visa, Mastercard or Maestro.
TT-Line's ferries dock at Norra Nyhamnsgatan 1b. With a vehicle, check-in closes 30 minutes before departure for sailings to Germany, and 60 minutes before for Poland and Lithuania. Foot passengers check in with TT-Line at the station (Kontinentplan 2), at the latest 45 minutes before departure, and take the shuttle bus to the ship.
Getting there and parking
From Malmö, the E6 and E22 lead straight to the terminal; from Ystad, take road 9 or the E65. Around the Stena terminal there's paid short- and long-stay parking, plus a drop-off and pick-up zone. The TT-Line berth has no car park of its own, but there's a small public car park next door.
Without a car, take the Skånetrafiken Pågatåg train to Trelleborg Centralstation. Regional buses from across Skåne also stop there. From the station it's under five minutes on foot to the Stena check-in on Hamngatan, and taxis wait at the station too.
Onward travel from Trelleborg
Malmö is around 30 km away, and from there the Öresund Bridge continues on to Copenhagen. Ystad is around 45 km to the east, with fast ferries to Bornholm; more on our page on Ystad. Heading to the west coast, take the route via Halmstad to Gothenburg.
Before you set off, a short stop in town is worth it: an old Viking fortress lies just outside the ferry terminal, and Trelleborg is nicknamed the City of Palms.
