Klaipėda - Trelleborg is the long ferry line from Lithuania to the southern tip of Sweden. It saves you driving from Karlshamn right across Skåne if Malmö or the west coast is your destination. The catch: the line sails on only a few days, with up to three sailings a week in the timetable. If no date fits, Klaipėda - Karlshamn has several sailings a day.
Departure from Klaipėda
The ferry leaves from the TT-Line terminal at Minijos g. 180. With a vehicle, check-in closes 90 minutes before departure, and the ID of every traveller is scanned at the desk. Keep them to hand, including for children.
The crossing
You're at sea for around 19 hours, a night and a good part of a day. The ships are provided by TT-Line, which has run the line since 2018; DFDS sells the same sailings as a partner. With a crossing this long, a cabin is worth including in your booking. The car deck is closed during the crossing, so take everything you need for the night up with you.
Car, motorhome, bike or dog
Cars, motorbikes, motorhomes and caravans can travel, and you can also come as a foot passenger without a vehicle. Arrival in Trelleborg and onward travel
In Trelleborg, TT-Line's ferries dock at Norra Nyhamnsgatan 1b. Via the E6 and E22 you're in Malmö in around 30 kilometres, and from there you can continue over the Öresund Bridge to Copenhagen or up the west coast towards Gothenburg. Without a car, take the Pågatåg from Trelleborg Centralstation.
Timetable, season and prices
With so few sailings, it's worth checking the timetable early. For the return trip to Lithuania, the ferry currently leaves Trelleborg on Mondays at 23:00, Thursdays at 17:00 and Saturdays at 10:20.
