Świnoujście – Ystad
Across the Baltic Sea from Poland to Sweden – and on to Copenhagen
The Świnoujście–Ystad ferry route links the Polish port town of Świnoujście (Swinemünde), at the mouth of the Oder on the German-Polish border, with the southern Swedish town of Ystad in the province of Skåne – a crossing of around seven hours over the open Baltic Sea. It's a handy option if you're already in northern Poland or arriving via Berlin: Świnoujście is about two and a half hours' drive from Berlin (and Berlin Brandenburg Airport) via the A11 and E65, making it a practical alternative to the classic Sweden ferries from Rostock or Travemünde.
The line is operated year-round by Polferries and Unity Line, which have jointly traded under the umbrella brand POLSCA Baltic Ferries since 2026. On board the ferries M/F Mazovia, M/F Varsovia, M/F Polonia and M/F Skania you'll find restaurants, duty-free shops, cabins in various categories, and on night crossings, live music and a disco. A particular highlight of this route: with the Polferries combination ticket, you can continue straight on from Ystad across the Öresund Bridge to Copenhagen.
