TT-Line has sailed from Travemünde to Karlshamn since 2023. The route isn't a daily service: the ferry departs in the evening about once a week, and the crossing takes around 19 hours. The year's sailings begin in late April. Some sailings call at Trelleborg on the way, where you sometimes change ship, with a TT-Line follow-me car guiding you to the connecting ferry. The newest route: POLSCA has sailed between Gdańsk and Karlshamn since early July 2026, and the route was officially opened on 12 August 2026. The Skania and the Copernicus operate the route, with six departures a week and a crossing time of around 13 hours. Terminal & check-in
TT-Line's terminal is at Öresundsvägen 49-0, 37431 Karlshamn, on the edge of town. Check-in at the terminal building opens about two hours before departure and closes 90 minutes before, even if you've already checked in online. If the office is closed, collect your boarding passes at the multi-kiosk outside the building. All travellers need a valid passport or national ID card, children included.
Foot passengers take the shuttle bus to the ship, and cyclists follow the bus. The vehicle decks are closed during the crossing, so take everything you need on board out of the car beforehand. The nearest cash machine is a good 2 km away in the town centre.
Getting there & parking
With a permit from the TT-Line office, you can park free of charge next to the office for up to seven days. Camping isn't allowed on the site. Without a car, take Blekingetrafiken bus 5, which has linked the terminal with Karlshamn Resecentrum station since 15 June 2026, or a taxi.
Onward travel from Karlshamn
Karlshamn lies on the E22, the coastal road in south-east Sweden. Heading east it leads to Karlskrona, on to Kalmar and Öland and up the east coast towards Stockholm. Heading west you reach Malmö and the Öresund Bridge via Kristianstad. For the return trip to Germany, Trelleborg is also worth considering, with daily sailings to Rostock and Travemünde.
